KATHRYN ALTER hails from Juneau, Alaska.  After attending Interlochen Arts Academy, she went on to graduate from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance with the highest honors in 2001.  Ms. Alter is a founding member of Riedel Dance Theater, and has worked with Alan Danielson and Kazuko Hirabayashi Dance Theater. Her choreography has been presented in New York City at a variety of venues including the Limón Studio, Kazuko Hirabayashi Dance Theater, the DUMBO Arts Festival, and SUNY Purchase. She has been a member of the Limón Dance Company since 2003.

RAPHAËL BOUMAÏLA is a graduate of the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Lyon. Before coming to the United States, he performed throughout France with Red Note/Andy Degroat Company. In 1994, he became a charter member of the Limón West Dance Project in San Jose, CA, and joined the Limón Dance Company in 1998. He has performed duet concerts with Nina Watt in the United States and abroad.

DURELL R. COMEDY is a native of Prince George's County, Maryland and a 2008 magna cum laude graduate of George Mason University, earning a BFA in Dance Performance. Upon graduation, he received awards for Excellence in Performance and Outstanding Achievement in the Major. Since graduation, he has performed with the Mark Morris Dance Group, Troy Powell, Lisa Rinehart, Roger Jeffrey and CorbinDances.  He was a soloist in the Baltimore Opera Company's Aida,  and performed at the Metropolitan Opera Housein Mark Morris' Orfeo ed Euridice.  Mr. Comedy joined the Company in 2009.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
KATIE DIAMOND's training and early professional performance career began in the world of ballet and ended with a near four-year hiatus from formal dance training.  Katie returned to dance at California Institute of the Arts, where she earned her BFA and was selected to study abroad at London Contemporary Dance School. Katie first performed with the Limón Dance Company in 2005. She has also performed with Mark Morris Dance Group, the Met Opera, Cornfield Dance, Daniel Charon, Pam Tanowitz, Colin Connor, Jonathan Fredrickson, Jessica Gaynor; and in 2009 toured a solo concert to universities nationally and abroad. She is on faculty at the Limón Institute and guest teaches at various universities, festivals, and schools.
 
 
ELISE DREW, of Puerto Rican descent, is originally from Oxford, CT and received her early training with the Brass City Ballet School. In May 2007, she graduated Cum Laude with an Honorable Mention in Dance from the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program. She is an original member of TAKE Dance and HopeBoykinDance and has performed with Camille A. Brown and Dancers, the Santa Fe Opera, Sean Curran Company, Silver/Brown Dance Company, and Luna Negra Dance Theater in Chicago. Ms. Drew joined the Company in 2010.

DANIEL FETECUA SOTO, a native of Bogotá, Colombia, holds a BFA from Folkwang-Hochschule, Germany, and has appeared as a guest artist in Pina Bausch's masterpieces, Rite of Spring and Tannhaeuser. He is founder and artistic director of Pajarillo Pinta'o, a dance company that combines Colombian Folklore and Modern Dance, based in New York and Germany. He is currently guest choreographer and board member of ID Studio Theater, a not-for-profit organization led by German Jaramillo.  In Spring 2008, he was commissioned to create a new piece by Dancing in the Streets with funding from Harlem Stage. Mr. Fetecua Soto has been a member of the Limón Dance Company since 2006.

KRISTEN FOOTE is from Toronto, Canada. She began training in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz before joining the Canadian Children’s Dance Theatre and training in the Limón technique.  There she worked with nationally recognized choreographers performing the works of Margie Gillis, Peggy Baker, David Earleand Carol Anderson. In 2000, she joined the LimónDance Company and has since also been a guest artist with Thang Dao Dance Company, Riedel Dance Theater, and The Yard. She was noted as one of Dance Magazine's “Top 25 to Watch” in 2005.  She has also performed in Champ:  A Space Opera, The Hard Nut with the Mark Morris Dance Group and was, for three years, a Radio City Rockette.

LOGAN KRUGER was born in Atlanta, GA, where she began her dance training with Annette Lewis. She received a BFA from The Juilliard School and has toured internationally with Shen Wei Dance Arts and Michelle Mola/The Troupe, of which she is a founding member.

 

 

 
BELINDA MCGUIRE, originally from Toronto, graduated from The Juilliard School (BFA 2006).  She also performs independently as a solo artist and has danced with Gallim Dance, Doug Varone and Dancers, DANSCORES, the DOORKNOB Company and The Canadian Children's Dance Theatre.  Her choreography has been presented at the Festival de la Ciudad 2009 (Mérida, Yucatán, México), the Canada Dance Festival (Ottawa), in Toronto and in New York City.  Ms. McGuire was awarded the 2008 Bessie Schönberg Choreographic Residency at The Yard, and recognized by Dance Films Association's 2007 Susan Braun Award.  She periodically teaches at Dance New Amsterdam, the Limón Institute and York University (Toronto).

DANTE PULEIO, attended school and began his dance training at 19 years old at the Laban Centre, and graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He was the choreographer for Nobody Suspects a Butterfly (HBO), and has since started his own New York based contemporary dance company entitled Puleio. His favorite credits: starring in Your Mama Don’t Dance (Lifetime TV), the European/ Japanese tour of The Who’s Tommy, and the flying jitterbug in The Wizard of Oz.

FRANCISCO RUVALCABA, a native of San Diego, CA, has toured with the Lincoln Center Institute, El Festival Nacional é Internacional de Danza en México, and the Innsbrook Festival of Ancient Music. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Mr. Ruvalcaba performed the works of José Limón, Paul Taylor, Mark Morris, Jirí Kylián, Benjamin Harkarvy and Agnes De Mille. He joined the Company in 1996.

     
 
AARON SELISSEN,is originally from Green Bay, WI. He received his B.F.A. in Dance Performance from Butler University. In 2002, he joined David Hochoy’s Dance Kaleidoscope of Indianapolis. During his time with Dance Kaleidoscope, he enjoyed annual residencies at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. In 2005, Mr. Selissen moved to NYC and was invited to dance with the Martha Graham Ensemble. He later joined the Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, Janis Brenner and Dancers, and Isabel Gotzkowsky and Friends. In 2008, he co-founded BARKIN/SELISSEN PROJECT, a collaborative endeavor, with partner Kyla Barkin. Aaron’s choreography has been presented at such venues as the Staller Center for the Arts Main Stage at Stony Brook University, Ailey/Citigroup Theater, the Cunningham Theater, Sam Houston State University, Grand Space in Brooklyn, Flushing Town Hall, John Ryan Theater, City Center Studios, Manhattan Movement Arts Center, and more.
