  KATHRYN ALTER hails from Juneau, Alaska.  After attending Interlochen Arts Academy, she went on to graduate from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance with the highest honors in 2001.  In 2003, Ms. Alter joined The Limón Dance Company. She has had the privilege of performing works of Jose Limón, Doris Humphrey, Jirí Kylián, Lar Lubovitch, Susanne Linke, and Jonathan Riedel. Ms. Alter is a founding member of the Riedel Dance Theater, and has enjoyed projects with Alan Danielson and Kazuko Hirabayashi Dance Theater. Her choreography has been presented in New York City at a variety of venues, including the Limón Studio, Kazuko Hirabayashi Dance Theater, the DUMBO Arts Festival, and SUNY Purchase.
     

  RAPHAËL BOUMAÏLA is a graduate of the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Lyon. Before coming to the United States, he performed throughout France with Red Note/Andy Degroat Company. In 1994, he became a charter member of the Limon West Dance Project in San Jose, CA, and joined the Limón Dance Company in 1998. He has performed duet concerts with Nina Watt in the United States and abroad, and had his own work appear on a Limón Dance Company program.

KATIE DIAMOND performed professionally as a ballet dancer before discovering modern dance. Her training included performing the works of Balanchine with the Contra Costa Ballet and studying on scholarship at

Joffrey Ballet School and London Contemporary Dance School. Ms. Diamond earned a BFA from Cal Arts in 2003 and since then, has enjoyed dancing with Jamie Bishton, Daniel Charon, and Jessica Gaynor, as well as Jonathan Riedel and Catherine Miller in Martha's Vineyard at the Yard.  Katie joined the company in 2005.

     

  KURT DOUGLAS received his BFA in Dance from The Boston Conservatory, where he was the recipient of the Ruth Sanoholm Ambrose Scholarship Award and The Jan Veen Dance Scholarship. He performed with the Boston Dance Theatre and The Boston Conservatory Dance Theatre in works by José Limón, Paul Taylor, Martha Graham, Lar Lubovitch, Sean Curran, Murray Louis, and Laszlo Berdo. He received a 2002 Princess Grace Award for Dedication to Excellence in Dance and had the honor of performing for His Serene Highness Crown Prince Albert of Monaco and The Royal Family. Mr. Douglas joined the Company in 2001.

DANIEL FETECUA SOTO, a native of Bogotá, Colombia, has performed with DFUN (Danzas Folcloricas Universidad Nacional) and PSOAS Contemporary Dance Company in Colombia. He holds a BFA from Folkwang-hochschule, Germany, and has appeared as a guest artist in Pina Bausch's masterpieces, Rite of Spring and Tannhaeuser. Mr. Fetecua has also worked with La Fura dels Baus, Kuo Chu Wu and won a Salsa Award in the European Salsa Championship in 2004. His company, Pajarillo Pintao, founded in 2003, is currently touring in Germany and Italy. Mr. Fetecua wishes to thank dance professors and mentors, Libby Nye and Lutz Förster.

     

  KRISTEN FOOTE is from Toronto, Canada, and began performing and touring with the Canadian Children’s Dance Theatre, where she worked with Peggy Baker, Margie Gillis, David Earle, Carol Anderson and Keith Lee.  She has performed at the Yard; is a member of the Thang Dao Dance Company; danced in Champ:  A Space Opera; and has been a Radio City Rockette.  In 2005, she was recognized among Dance Magazine’s “Top 25 to Watch.”  Ms. Foote joined The Limón Dance Company in 2000.

JONATHAN FREDRICKSON is originally from Corpus Christi, TX where he studied ballet with Kay Boone and Cristina Munro. He holds a BFA in dance performance and choreography from California Institute of the Arts. His choreographic work has been presented in venues in the U.S and in Asia.  Mr. Fredrickson joined the Company in 2006.

  RYOKO KUDO was born in Japan and raised in NY. She has worked with the Martha Graham Dance Ensemble, Rae Ballard Dance Company, Saeko Ichinohe Dance Company, Thang Dao Dance Company and Jonathan Riedel Dance Company since graduating from The Boston Conservatory. Ryoko teaches dance and pilates in the US and collaborates with Dance Project New York to bring the NY dance scene to Japan. Her works have been presented at MIT, The Boston Conservatory, Mulberry Street Theater, and Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts. Ryoko joined the Company in 2001.

ASHLEY LINDSEY, originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, is a recent graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts.  At NCSA he performed works by Murray Louis, David Parsons, and José Limon.  Since graduating, Mr. Lindsey has performed with The Wes Veldink Movement, VIA Dance Collaborative, and Tony award winning chorographer Hinton Battle on the film, Bolden. This is Ashley's first season with the company.

     
  RYAN MASON recently graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography. He has toured nationally with Jesus Christ Superstar, Annie Get Your Gun, and Peter Pan. He has worked with choreographers Colin Conner, Tina Yuan, Mira Kingsley, and Patti Columbo. His own choreography has been performed in Los Angeles venues including the RedCat Theater at the Disney Symphony Hall. This is Mr. Mason's first season with the Company.
     

  FRANCISCO RUVALCABA, a native of San Diego, California, has toured with the Lincoln Center Institute, El Festival Nacional é Internacional de Danza en México, and the Innsbrook Festival of Ancient Music. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Mr. Ruvalcaba performed the works of José Limón, Paul Taylor, Mark Morris, Jirí Kylián, Benjamin Harkarvy and Agnes De Mille. He joined the Company in 1996.

RUPING WANG , a native of Taiwan, was a member of the company from 2004-2006 and rejoined the company in 2007. Ms. Wang taught full time and directed a student performance at the Dance College in Taipei National University of the Arts in 2006. Together with Mr. Wenchung Lin she founded WRDance and has performed duet shows in NYC and Taiwan. Ruping holds an MFA from the University of Utah and a BFA from TNUA Dance College. She has worked with Martha Graham Dance Company, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Mary Anthony Dance Theatre, Repertory Dance Theatre, KYLin/ Dancers, Crossover Dance Company, Taipei Folk Dance Company, and Taipei Chamber Ballet, among others.
