Award winning documentary directed by Malachi Roth and produced by Limón Institute Director Ann Vachon and Jeff Levy-Hinte. Limón: A Life Beyond Words" offers a compelling look at revolutionary modern dancer and choreographer José Limón (1908-1972), once described by the New York Times as the "greatest male dancer of his own or any other time." The film has appeared in festivals from India to New York City, and won awards for Best Film Made for Television at the Montreal Festival of Films on Art, Best Documentary at Ajijic Festival Internacionale de Cine in Mexico, and Best Documentary on the Arts at the Wine Country Film Festival in California. It has screened at Lincoln Center, the Pompidou Center, the Kennedy Center, the National Gallery and at the American Dance Festival.
