The Limón Institute is the Official School of the Limón Dance Company

Studio Director, Alan Danielson, teaches class

 

Limón Technique emphasizes the natural rhythms of fall and recovery and the interplay between weight and weightlessness to provide dancers with an organic approach to movement that easily adapts to a range of choreographic styles. The faculty includes former and current members of the Company and artists affiliated with the Limón aesthetic.


Open classes - The Limón Institute offers open classes in Limón Technique at Peridance Capezio Center on an ongoing basis. All classes are accompanied by live music.

  • Advanced technique, 10 am M - F
  • Intermediate technique, 1:00 pm M – F, 11:00 am on Saturday
  • Intermediate technique, 6:00 pm M –F
  • Beginning Classes, 6:30 pm Tu/F, 12:00 pm on Sunday
Repertory Workshops - The Institute holds special workshops in repertory, performance skills, and composition. Daytime workshops for advanced and professional dancers are held following the morning advanced technique class.

Programs of Study - The Limón Institute offers four different programs of study:
  • Professional Studies Program – 9 months
  • Fall and Spring Intensive Program – 12 weeks
  • Limón/Peridance Student Visa Program – 12 months
  • Dance Training and Arts Management Study Program – 9 months

International Students - A student visa is available in cooperation with Peridance Capezio Center. This can be combined with the Professional Studies Program. For more information visit www.peridance.com

Summer Workshops – The Limón Dance Company and the Limón Institute typically offer a West Coast and an East Coast Workshop each summer.
